You might have noticed many websites showing the featured image in post or page just below post title or sometimes above the post title. By default a genesis child theme might have similar feature and now you want to get rid of featured images coming on top of your blog post.

I have done the similar thing for my Genesis News Pro Theme and removed the default genesis featured image showing in posts and pages. In this genesis tutorial I will share how you can also remove the featured image and only display the same in your home page itself.

Steps To Remove Genesis Framework Featured Image From Blog Post Page

This is a very easy to achieve change and can be done easily using a simple CSS code. First of all go to your WordPress admin area and then follow the path.

Appearance >> Editor.

Look for the below CSS tag .alignleft and find out the exact code like below. Try to find out the exact code in case it is different from like this. You can also find out the correct CSS tag by using the inspect element feature.

a.alignleft img, img.alignleft, .wp-caption.alignleft {
margin: 0 24px 16px 0;
display: none;
}

Simply add display: none; in this CSS code and then save the code. Clear your browser cache and load your website again. Now you will find your blogs don’t have that featured image appearing on top of the blog post.

If you find this tutorial useful and easy to follow, please share the same in Facebook, Google + or Twitter. Do write a comment below to add more ways to customize a genesis child theme.
